CAE4U presents 2D Axis-Symmetric CFD simulation of Supersonic flow over a 7.62 mm projectile.

Objective of the Simulation is to capture the shock waves and obtain the drag coefficient (cd).

The CFD results are compared with available test results for verification of the CFD methodology.

We have put all efforts to make this content useful for you. However we encourage to use your discretion about the usage and since it is shared under good will , CAE4U is not liable for any lose either directly are indirectly by usage of this content.

  • Paraview for post processing
  • Engauge Digitizer for digitizing Cd Graphs from images
  • Libre Calc for mesh related and Cd calculations
  • Ubuntu 20.04 Operating System

  3. UNV mesh file
  4. Openfoam Case files for Mach 1.1 and 1.2 (Ready to run)
  5. Libre Calc sheet as an aid for Mesh density calculation and Cd calculations

You can opt to run the simulation as is but it is encouraged to use this as a starting file and modify the case file and explore.
